A little about Amy Schnell, M.Ed., LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I graduated from University of Arkansas- Little Rock in 2011 with a master’s degree in Counseling Education. I started out my counseling career as an onsite therapist for a residential children’s home for at-risk youth focusing on family reunification. I also have experience in community mental health where I worked with individuals in the school and agency setting as well as in their homes. The transition to offer virtual mental health came as a result of Covid, but there are many benefits for clients when they can receive therapy from the comfort of their own home. This is especially true for those who are working through a traumatic past or have anxiety and are not sure how to best address the stress and feelings of being overwhelmed in their everyday life.

Prior to starting my counseling career, I was a public school teacher where my love of helping others improve their life through education grew to the point that I decided to return to school to be able to help the whole person. I am extremely passionate when it comes to helping individuals learn how important it is for them to take care of themselves not only emotionally but also physically.

As a result of my experience, Trauma Informed - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy are my specialties. However, I will utilize the therapy techniques that best fit my client’s life challenge(s).
